The Challenge
The product is bulky and easily crushed, yet the category sells on a glossy, aspirational image.
Our Solution
A rigid box with an internal frame that holds shape under stacking, gloss laminated with high-impact photography.
The Result
Return rate from transit damage dropped to near zero after the switch.
Project Story
Wig & Hair Packaging started from a single constraint: the product is bulky and easily crushed, yet the category sells on a glossy, aspirational image. The failure mode we had to design out first was colour drift between the carton and the product — everything else in the specification follows from that.
Structure
We resolved it with a magnetic flip-top rigid box, sized to the actual contents rather than to a stock die-line. A die-cut paper tray holds each piece at a fixed position, so the pack arrives square and opens the same way every time.
Materials
Textured specialty paper carries the load. Board grade and wall thickness are matched to the weight and fragility of the contents, so the box survives palletised freight without corner crush or lid bow.
Printing and finishing
Branding is applied with hot-foil stamping and finished with soft-touch lamination. Colour runs to CMYK, with Pantone spot matching for brand-critical marks and a printed proof before the run.
Quality control
Each run is checked against the approved sample: dimensions, insert fit, colour density and finish adhesion. Drop and stack tests are available for export shipments.
Applying this to your project
Return rate from transit damage dropped to near zero after the switch. Die-line, insert tooling and board spec are kept on file, so repeat runs need no re-tooling. Send us product dimensions and target quantity for a quote against this structure.
